A strong constitution is needed to handle these presidential diets.
Bennett Rea, the creator behind the viral social media account @cookinwithcongress, is known for sharing the recipes and dietary habits of American politicians.
In some of his most recent and viral videos, the 35-year-old recreated a day in the life of Presidents Joe Biden, 81, and Donald Trump, 78, concluding that men don’t eat dinner like “normal people” either.
Trump’s diet made Rean feel sick and anxious, while Biden’s boring meal plan was only a slight improvement.
The TikTokker created the news articles and books to go with each menu and then sat down at his desk.
According to Rea’s TikTok video, Trump normally skips breakfast and starts his day by opening the first of many Diet Cokes — a drink he continues to consume throughout the day.
For lunch, the Republican candidate often cuts a steak well enough to wrap around the corners, which he slathers in ketchup and, sometimes, a side salad with Roquefort dressing.
Throughout the day, Trump eats Doritos or Lays chips and continues to drink Diet Coke.
And at the end of the day, he gorges himself on two Big Macs, two Filet-o-Fish and a small chocolate shake that he washes down with a Diet Coke — Trump reportedly downs about 12 cans a day.
As delicious as Trump’s diet is, Rea said he felt sick a few times and was “very scared” of how he would feel the next day.
“Trump’s diet, I don’t understand how anyone in their 60s, 70s or 80s can eat like Donald Trump for a full day,” he told the Daily Mail.
“It was approaching a ‘Supersize Me’ experiment and a feeling that I wouldn’t do it for more than a day because I have health concerns. The next day, I felt as hungry as if I had just drunk a jug of red wine, I couldn’t concentrate.”
“I took half a day off work, walked around town and felt nauseous, it was hard, I only started to feel better the next day,” he said.
According to Rea’s research, Trump consumes twice the amount of salt, fat and protein recommended by the US Food and Drug Administration.
Rea also noted that the high-calorie diet made her unsure whether she wanted to fight or lie down.
“At one point during the Trump diet, I actually ended up saying to my wife, ‘I can’t really talk to you right now, I just need to be alone with all this food that’s in my stomach,'” he said.
Biden’s diet, on the other hand, was far less offensive to Rea’s health — designed to fit the president’s aging body.
The president starts his day with a breakfast of Special K cereal and orange Gatorade, according to Rea’s TikTok video.
Later, he bites into a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and an apple washed down with another Gatorade.
Between meals he consumes protein bars and Fig Newtons.
And then for dinner, he sits down to enjoy a bowl of angel hair pasta with tomato sauce and dessert with another bowl of Special K and more orange Gatorade.
Biden’s diet was within the FDA’s recommendations, but “it was very simple and got rid of any decision fatigue,” Res said. “She had this very childlike quality.”
“Afterwards, I felt like this diet wasn’t meant for me. I was upset, it was mild. There wasn’t enough protein, so I was a little hungry and sugared up from all the Gatorade.”
Rea also pointed out that neither the politician drinks coffee nor alcohol, both of which the grocer lacked.
