Mum praised for ‘revenge’ on ice cream scam

Revenge is a dish best served cold.

A mother ran into a local ice cream parlor out of town after he “hardened” her child in a vaguely creepy way.

The scorned mama bear, who recently rumbled on Reddit’s “petty revenge” site, detailed how her young daughter ran for a frozen treat last summer after hearing the appealing noise.

“Kiddo turned a little…sad. I asked him what was wrong. She said: “I asked the ice cream shop for my change. He gave me this lollipop and left before I could say anything.’

Insulted by the injury, the mother said that her little one is not even a fan of sweets.

“Even if he did, it wouldn’t have been a fair trade (not by a long shot).”

Instead of having a meltdown, the mom—clearly not a softie—decided to fight a war of attrition, freezing the dodgy vendor known as her block off the market.

“I drove to Costco and bought a few boxes of ice cream bars. For the next few weeks, my child shared ice cream with all the kids on our side of the neighborhood,” she wrote.

“My kid made some new friends and no one on our side of the neighborhood bought from the ice cream parlor during that time.”

Coming together to give a bad actor the cold shoulder became a sweet surprise by bringing the community together.

“When we finished, other parents started to come in and provide snacks for the children playing outside.”

Soon, the Internet found the ice cream tale to be a real treat.

“This was an angry purchase with a great return! You have my respect,” one commented.

“Yeah, that guy is a jerk. But it looks like you’ve made some friends in the neighborhood, cooking and sharing with each other,” wrote another.

“To love. The ice cream man is ripped. I hope he learned a lesson!” added a third.

More than a few parents seem to have had it with their local mobile candy vendor — The Post recently spoke with NYC parents shocked to discover that a simple truck cone can cost as much as $14 this summer.

And in the UK, a precocious eight-year-old became a social media star after staging an epic insult match over the price of a small soft serve in the park near her home.
